A WAY Overdue Update on Archie Authentic Editions

Hi everyone,
We need to start with a big apology.
It’s been far too long since our last update - over a month since we promised bi-weekly updates.
That’s on us, and it’s not okay. If you’ve been frustrated or felt ignored, you are right. We hear you, and we take responsibility. Rather than promise immediate regular updates we want to give you a larger context for how we'll get this project we love into your hands:
Where Things Stand
The good news: we are 100% committed to Archie Authentic Editions. We love this project as much as ever, and we can’t wait to deliver these books into your hands. With Archie’s 85th anniversary coming next year, we’re more motivated than ever to celebrate these characters together.
The not-so-good news: our timeline has slipped again, largely due to ripple effects from our Pre-Code Horror Authentic Editions campaign. We are currently in the middle of packing to ship Pre-Code Horror, and that continues to be a much more complex process than expected. Pre-Code has to be fulfilled first before Archie can move into the print and fulfillment queue.
On top of that, there has been a behind-the-scenes factor that we unfortunately can’t yet talk about publicly. We know that sounds mysterious, and we know it adds to frustration - but it’s a real part of the delays. The good news is that this is not nefarious, nor does it mean we’ve lost interest in the project. Quite the opposite: it’s something that we believe will ultimately benefit Authentic Editions and you as backers. We expect to be able to share more details about this in the coming weeks.
Reassurance
We want to be absolutely clear:
This project will be delivered.
Production is ongoing. Restoration work on Archie issues continues, and the results are stunning.
Your support means everything. We haven’t disappeared, and we won’t.
We know the wait has been abysmal. We know patience is thin. We can only ask for a bit more faith as we push through the final hurdles with Pre-Code Horror and pivot fully to Archie.

Hi everyone,
We wanted to check in with our promised bi-weekly update (we're a bit late on that and there's not huge news this time) and we are... One week closer...
Once that’s underway, it will pave the way for printing and fulfilling the Archie collection.
We expect to have more specific timeline news in the next couple of weeks, and we’ll keep you posted every step of the way.
In the meantime, everything is broadly on track — not moving quite as quickly as we’d like, but moving forward and staying in line with our updated expectations.

Overdue News 📰 Good and less good...

👋 Hi everyone,
We want to start this update with a heartfelt apology. It’s been far too long since our last message - over two months! That’s way overdue, and we take full responsibility for the radio silence. We’ve been deep in the trenches working to get everything right, but we know that’s no excuse for not keeping you in the loop. From here on out, we’re committing to bi-weekly updates (at least) so you’re always informed.
😀The Good News (and the 😬Not-So-Good News)
The not-so-good news first: due to a ripple effect from delays on our Pre-Code Horror Authentic Editions campaign, it’s clear that delivery of the Archie collection will be delayed further from our original timeline. We know that is NOT good and we apologize for the frustration and for our failure to keep this on the original timeline.
The good news is that this isn’t about hitting snags with production quality or the restoration process. In fact, those are going great. We’ve solved all the biggest technical challenges around scanning, restoring, and reprinting these books. What we’re navigating now is logistics: From printing to shipping and fulfillment, the trickle down from Pre-Code Horror delays have made our timeline to deliver these dependent on first printing and delivering those.
We’ve cracked the challenges with Pre-Code Horror, and that puts Archie in a much stronger position as we move forward. Pre-Code books are heading to print now and will begin shipping to backers in early August. Once that’s rolling, Archie is next in line and we’re more prepared than ever to get it done right.

Hey wonderful Archie backers! 👋
First off — a heartfelt THANK YOU and a quick apology for the radio silence. We’ve been completely heads-down getting our Pre-Code Horror Authentic Editions campaign out the door, and for those of you who backed both, you know it’s been a wild ride.
The good news? All the challenges we’ve tackled on that front — from materials to manufacturing to fulfillment — have laid the groundwork for a smoother, smarter, and more efficient process for Archie. In short: Pre-Code’s delays are Archie’s gains.
📦 That said, there is a chance we may be slightly delayed from our original delivery timeline. Nothing major, and we’re doing everything we can to stay on track. We’ll keep you posted every step of the way, but rest assured — the work is well underway and progressing beautifully.
